Our premises
The premise in Egypt is located in Nasr City, in a Modern building, ideal location, open space, smoking free working environment.
We care about the health of our employees and that's why the Gym is operating with a schedule for men & ladies and a trainer is available for coaching.
The corporation also has a large cafeteria catering to 120 people, with a suitable variety of cuisines in an outdoors (smoking areas) and air-conditioned spaces. It is also equipped with mini-cyber café where you can freely surf the net beside wireless connectivity feature. The cafeteria is also used for holding casual meetings within a more out-going environment.
Masr Om el Donia…
A huge Event in Afia Egypt was held on Feb. 10, 2009. It was one of those big events for Afia Egypt. There was an assessment for Afia key achievements and dissatisfactions in 2008 and a look at our SWOT though which our future vision for 2013 is derived from. Through key learning & achievements of 2008 and opportunities for 2009, Afia Egypt is planning to be at the top of Savola Foods business units driven from many perspectives namely: Financial, Marketing, Sales, Savola Profesional –B2B-, Export, Manufacturing, and HR
Messrs Zouhair Lafchouch and Mohamed Loughzail flew to Cairo especially to attend this meeting. A pleasant surprise that added great support to this meeting.
A presentation on “The Good to Great” Book by Jim Collins highlights “an overnight success is usually the result of a decade of hard work”.
Though it is strictly a business meeting, yet there was some space for fun. The Folklore show was very amusing : a horse dancing and Tannoura shows amused the attendees and spread a relaxing atmosphere. Some Egyptian gifts and shoulder scarves were handed to all attendees to stand as a symbol of “Masr Om El-Donia and Tahaddi… “
That is not all….. there was a reward for those who had scored best achievements during 2008 (Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes). Also those who have been with Afia Egypt for 15, 10 and 5 years were also recognized.
While the Savola Anthem plays, you can feel the energy and enthusiasm , thrill & determination wrapping all the attendees and again Masr Om El-Donia clip helped elevating such a feeling.
Innovation Workshops & Deployment Sessions:
The Cairo Innovations Workshop took place on 23rd – 24th February 2009, with a diverse group from Afia, USCE, and USC and resulted in many promising ideas championed by most of the participants. This is what you get when you have HR mingling with Finance, Production, IT, Sales, and marketing.
During March, the Innovation workshop took place in Istanbul, with a very diverse group from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iran & Sector. The group carried a wide array of experiences, which were all shared and discussed to enrich the sessions. Also during March, a 1-day session was held with the USC BLT members to discuss the optimal approach to instilling "innovations" across USC. The session was a very fruitful, with creation of innovation teams focusing on core value-added elements in the business. A large audience session is planned during April, to both brief the teams of their challenges and equip them with some basic tools to facilitate their work. GOOD LUCK USC!!!
President Mubarak’s Visit
Last Tuesday, 31st of March, the USCE family was honored to welcome President Hosny Mubarak and group of Egyptian Ministers accompanied him headed by Dr. Ahmed Nazeif the Prime Mister of Egypt, the objective of the visit is to officially confirm the launch of the refinery, the guests were warmly welcomed by Dr. Sami Baroom, Mr. Emad El-Mehedab, Mr. Tarek Selim the USCE general manger, and a group of the company top executives.
The visit stands as the official launch of our beloved company, Mr. President claimed that he was impressed seeing such huge facility, systems, and the teams behind it on the Egyptian soil.
Mr. President listened to a presentation by Mr. Rashid Mohamed Rashid the Egyptian mister of Foreign Trade & Industry, who affirms that USCE, Savola, sugar plant is a breakthrough in the sugar technology world wide, and reassures the strength of the Egyptian Saudi investments bond and that the Egyptian market keep attracting more of the Group capital to invest in Savola Egypt recent company Alexandria Sugar Company.
Dr. Sami Baroom assured that the visit conveys the president’s full support to the industrial and investment flow in Egypt. The Savola Group’s earlier beliefs in the Egyptian market since 1992 when its total investments was 60 million pounds in the field of food oil refinery presented in Afia International Egypt company with its grand capital reaching now 500 millions pounds, hiring 2000 employees with its two factories in Suez and 10th of Ramadan cities, besides the group investment in the field of sugar in Egypt presented in USCE reached 1 billion pounds hiring 3000 employees.
After the presentation Mr. Tarek Selim explained briefly the industrial process on the factory archetype, then guided the President and the Ministers to a tour around the refinery where the president met with the packing workers and congratulated them for their efforts.
